| I know someone in MA just got a similar quote to have his car shipped out here for about the same amount. What about selling the Honda, shipping the bikes, and driving the Z out here? That might be a slightly cheaper way to go. If you can afford the cost of feeding gas that hovers around $4/gallon to a thirsty truck and have a use for it once you're out here, then I'd suggest doing the cross-country drive. It's well worth it if you have the time and funds (that's what I did 4 years ago). One unpleasant surprise that I encountered with our pick-up truck (we had the Expedition and an F-150 when we moved out here), is that CA applies a "contractor's tax" to all pick-up trucks. This was presumably done because so many contractors were using "personal" trucks for business use and CA was losing out on the tax $$, so they apply this to ALL pick-up trucks regardless if it's personal or business use. Something to keep in mind if you're thinking of getting a truck and keeping it once you're out here. Where in SoCal will you be settling? I live/work in Orange County (NOT to be referenced as "The OC" around me). Good luck with the relocation logistics. I hope to see you around once you get settled in. Dave
This car is probably owned by a snowboarder. Sig Quotes: "I JUST saw your polls post" email from BigTDogg on March 24, 2009 in reference to this polls post from Jan 7, 2009.
